Kuuru, 2019

Mural

This mural was commissioned by Leylaty’s Kuuru, a Nikkei concept restaurant in Jeddah, KSA for their flagship Leylaty location. The mural reimagines Japanese motifs with a contemporary twist. A female dancer, inspired by the role of geisha who are traditionally well versed in the arts and culture in japanese society, animates guilded tsubame (barn swallows) from her fan and brings to life a serene scene of a lotus pond.
